Tim’s experience is unique. Not only is he the only optician in North America to be invited to the Tom Davies design studio for on-site design, but some of Tim’s own designs have been added to the Tom Davies global collection.

Having led Arlington Optical for more than three decades, Tim curated Arlington Optical’s foundation defined by his commitment to precision, craftsmanship, and personalized patient care. Under his leadership, the practice earned the trust of generations of patients, many of whom have remained with Arlington Optical for over 40 years. Now that Tim is retired, he is no longer on-site overseeing the store, a role his son, Lachlan, was more than equipped to step into.

For Lachlan, Arlington Optical has always been more than a business, it has been a lifelong influence. Growing up around the practice, he had a front-row seat to his father’s dedication to craftsmanship, detail, and patient care, values that quickly became his own.

Working alongside his father allowed Lachlan to learn the trade from the ground up, building both technical expertise and an understanding of the relationships that define the practice. When the time came for Tim to retire, stepping into ownership felt like a natural continuation of that journey.

Today, Lachlan remains committed to upholding the standards that patients have trusted for generations, while also looking ahead—adopting new technologies and innovations to continue evolving the Arlington Optical experience.

Optometrist

Dr. Humphrey received her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She specializes in family eye care, detailed spectacle prescriptions, contact lens fittings and diabetic eye health exams.
