We’re here to help.

At Arlington Optical, we provide customer care you can count on day in and day out. Regardless of your vision needs – or how long it’s been since you saw an optometrist – we look forward to welcoming you with a smile. From replacing broken eyeglass parts to filling a new prescription or guiding you through the selection process, our opticians are always here to help. Some say we’re passionate about what we do. We like to think of ourselves as a best friend for your glasses – someone who knows just what to do when your glasses need a little help.

Computerized eyewear measuring tools

We were the first in the market to use digital measurement tools to give you the most accurate measurements for your lenses. The Optikam, our digital iPad measuring system, automatically measures these parameters while you’re wearing your new frames:

– The distance between your pupils (pd)
– Fitting height
– Tilt of the frame
– The distance between the back of the lens and the front of the eyes

Part computer and part optical scanner, the Optikam revolutionizes the fitting and measurement process for progressive and single-vision lenses. The end result is lenses that are customized to within 1/10 of a millimeter of your prescription, frame, face and personal preference. Optikam transforms ordinary vision into something extraordinary. It’s quick, comfortable – and unbelievably accurate.

In-house finishing lab

Arlington Optical owns and operates its own in-house lab where we make sure your lenses meet the most stringent, high-quality specifications. Our craftsmen use our state-of-the-art equipment to personally edge and mount your lenses in our Upper Arlington finishing lab, resulting in the best prescription eyewear anywhere – hands down.

Fittings, adjustments & repairs

We want you to be happy with your new eyewear, which should always provide you with the best vision possible. That also means keeping your sweet new eyewear looking great and performing well. So when it comes to fittings, adjustments and repairs, you can count on us to provide:

– Lens remounting
– Nosepad installation (ours are all imported from Europe to ensure quality materials)
– Screw tightening and replacement
– Frame straightening and alignment

We can also order most parts for manufacturer in-stock frames. When the parts are delivered, we simply refit your eyewear so they perform as originally intended.

If your eyewear feels unbalanced or generally out of order, please stop in anytime for a complimentary adjustment.

Eyewear care tips

By committing to a few, simple steps each day, you can help keep your eyeglasses as new as the day you picked them out. Start every morning by rinsing your lenses with water and a little dish soap or lens cleaner (no Windex, please). Rinse your lenses, and then wipe your eyewear with a clean cotton cloth (no fabric softener), or use a microfiber cloth when out and about. Be sure to wash your microfiber, which could retain dirt that may scratch your lenses. Finally, store your eyeglasses in their case – not your pocket or purse where they can easily come in contact with items that could damage the lenses.

If at any time your frames seem a little off-kilter, stop in so we can straighten them. Please don’t try to fix them yourself. It’s best to leave that task for the professionals. As always, adjustments are complimentary for the life of your Arlington Optical specs.

Truth is, all the carrots in the world can’t replace the need for regular professional eye care.

Warranties

Occasionally, a frame or lens will be defective. When that happens, you can rest assured that we’re here to help. If the problem occurs within the manufacturer’s warranty period, we will help facilitate the repair or replacement.  However, as with other products, if the breakage or defect is due to accidental damage, the manufacturer will not cover the repair.

You can count on us to assist with frame and lens warranties. Keep in mind, however, that scratch-resistant is not the same as scratch-proof. Still, we understand that life happens, so if your lenses are accidentally scratched within the first year, we will replace your lenses, one time, at no charge.

It’s a good idea to have a back-up pair of eyewear since some manufacturers take a few weeks to assess the defect.

One-time remakes

If your doctor changes your prescription within 90 days of when we made your lenses, Arlington Optical will provide you with a one-time FREE same-lens replacement. Keep in mind that this does not include upgrades, and it could take 2 to 4 weeks to create your new lenses. Surgical changes are not applicable to remakes.
